I have been working at BNY Mellon full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

You will learn about the financial industry to some extent. If you show initiative, drive, and ability, you will be rewarded with more work and responsibility. I wouldn't recommend staying here too long, but there is value here for an early career professional (emphasis on early). Time off is generous; you likely won't be asked to work beyond your scheduled hours.

Cons

The level of competency of some of your co-workers will be shocking. This is a place that the unskilled and unmotivated are permitted to hide/float by. If you don't work in NYC or Pittsburgh, you will be largely ignored. Very low pay compared to industry.

    Pros

Well established business, with great facilitates for education and career and personal development, it's really down to you go take charge of your experience as the company is so big and middle management can be lacking in people development skills

    Cons

Very split between the business units with no interaction between colleagues
