I have been working at BP full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits. Good mentor programs. Many outlets for work-life balance (e.g. Asian network, LGBT, pickup soccer, good gym facilities). Onsite daycare is a plus. 9/80 work schedule is fantastic. Fairly flexible work hours as long as you get the job done and meet expectations.

    Cons

Sometimes the process of large corporations can bog down efficiency, but there is a reason the process is in place, especially post-Macondo. The "safety moments" can be a excessive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The 10-yr "Excellence Program" is a bit unreasonable.

I have been working at BP full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Beginning to offer flexible work arrangement schedules to be more competitive with other companies. The pay is good, they offer a pension and the 401K match is 7%, which is better than most.

    Cons

With a company of this size, it can be very easy to plateau as upward mobility is difficult given the relatively flat organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management says they embrace diversity in all areas including diversity of thought, however most of the senior management is the exact same and has to prove to be the same in thinking and behanvior to be advanced beyond middle management in their career. My advice don't just talk the talk, diversity is the way of the future, truly embrace it without fear of losing your position.
