I have been working at BP full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

Equal opportunities employer with opportunities to work and develop personally on the global stage. Strong corporate and brand values that tries to do its best.

Cons

Size and bureaucracy can sometimes stifle growth and ambition, in addition to killing innovation because of the perceived lower risk strategy. This can lead to frustration because of slow decision making and a lack of empowerment and trust of employees - despite the strong human capital base.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide more avenues for differentiating across talent base to enable the best opportunities for the best talent while allowing the rest to grow at their individual pace to realize the full human capital resource. The issues are above ground, not under.

I have been working at BP full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of new things to learn, i was hired as a mature hire and was given lot of responsability quickly, opportunity to get involved in lots of events, very friendly atmosphere

    Cons

training given leaves a lot to be desired, training needs to be improved drastically, also data organisation throughout the company is apalling! one can spend months looking for data and still not find it. no overtime or days back for working on holidays/weekends is so demotivating

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

please make grading system clear and also progression through company

I have been working at BP as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

    Relaxed atmosphere
Mature processes compared to other industries
Great collegues to work alongside and learn from
    Still making lots of money
Seem to take the environment seriously

    Cons

Flexible working rarely extended to contractors, unclear why
IT for contractors is a joke
Sunbury is in the middle of nowhere!

Very frustrated that I can't work remotely on a Friday in a site which is in the middle of nowhere and totally deserted becauase everyone is either WFH or on a 9 day fortnight!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Why not allow contractors to work remotely and extend the talent pool to those outside of Sunbury, Houston and Aberdeen?!
