I have been working at BP

Pros

Great atmosphere, competive pay. It's a good place to get a start in the corporate world or even a great place to put in for the long haul.

Cons

Since recent mergers, eveything is just a little redundant and it is definately hard to feel the pulse of the company's guts: how to succeed, how to get things done, who's rear to kiss.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop being such business hounds and start being engineers again!

    I worked at BP

    Pros

    Great benefits and flex Fridays.

    Cons

Difficult to get anything done, projects get canceled etc. too often.
Too many people with too many opinions and no decisions get made.
I think if you are an engineer things might be different, but for the rest of us there are better places to work and get more opportunities

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give people more say in what happens in their jobs, stop coddling your engineers they are running the company into the ground

Current Employee - Facilities Engineer in Anchorage, AK

I have been working at BP

    Pros

There are a large number of opportunities available to employees all over the globe. Because of these opportunities you have the ability to really pick your own career path and this means there is a career path available for all different types of people.

    Cons

The organization is at times overwhelming and is not always focused on supporting operations as well as it should. Different parts of the organization seem to work against each other.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to provide new hires with many opportunities. This is a major selling point in attracting young talent and should be emphasized and supported within the organization.
