I worked at BSN medical full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

If you are in the medical device field and are just starting out, then BSN will give you the knowledge you need to move on in a yr or so.

Cons

Management doesn't listen, no structure, no opportunity for training or advancement. This from an 18 year veteran of BSN. Every 2-3 yrs the company is bought out by another. No one is happy there.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees, be fair and stop with the "favorites" and the gossip (and yes, even the men). Ridiculous....

    I worked at BSN medical

    Pros

Overall, the day to day work is good. Managers do not micro manage, at least in the groups that I worked with. You get recognition for effort given, etc.

    Cons

Overall, BSN medical is a very political atmosphere. The company is privately held (currently), so there is more leeway given for politics. Many decisions are made because the "right people" get on board. This really depends on who is friends with who and not based on what is the right decision. I seriously doubt this makes its way up to senior management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The only advise I would give is to possibly have a channel that employees could voice their concerns/opinions without the fear of backlash from the political middle management. Bad decisions get little opposition because no one is willing to get black balled for fighting it.
