Pros

The people and the benefits are the two best reasons to work at Babson. Everyone (faculty, staff, and students) is great to work with. I've been employed at Babson College for over 10 years, in multiple departments / divisions and positions. At each stop, I have felt as if I was part of a family. The atmosphere is truly welcoming and supportive and there is ample opportunity for self-starters to create value and move forward with projects / initiatives that benefit the College.

Cons

One of the downsides of working at any College is the salary. In general, College's are unable to match the upper half of the salaries in a given field - and possibly less in technology fields.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Narrow the strategic focus of the College an better align staff to provide a truly world class experience for the students.

Great job, but only for a college student who has nothing better to do.

    Pros

Good people and good location. The atmosphere is good, and there are a lot of great networking oppurtunites with the number of people associated with the college. Wellesley is great college town that has alot to offer anyone who spends alot of time there.

    Cons

They do not pay very well. Also, it is difficult to move up because they often hire from outside for upper level positions that pay the best money. Also, there is limited parking throughout the campus, which often makes it difficult to come and go.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward employees more with better compensation. Also, the payment for lower level employees should be weekly insteadt of bi- weekly.

Former Employee - Support in Wellesley, MA

    Pros

The benefits are really genrous they give you a lot of time off right from the start. There are numerous events on campus year round and they encorouge the staff to participate. Working in an academic environment open a lot of opportunities for exposure to people of different cultures and beliefs. My time there was an eye opening experience in which I learned a lot

    Cons

Scheduling, promotional opportunities and communication to support staff is limited. Feedback can be very limited and I found that there was little recognition or opportunity outside of my department for feedback or recognition. Hour can be long and demanding while some of the staff is given flex schedules during the summer months support staff is generally excluded from this benefit

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember the educational and management staff are not the only employees of Babson College
