Current Employee – been working at Backcountry.com
Pros – The culture, the gear discount, the office location, activities, interesting and challenging work. The absolute best thing about working at Backcountry is the people, the people, the people.
Cons – Growth pains. Change is constant at Backcountry, and you have to want to keep up with it to enjoy working here. In the past, there has also been a pretty naive workforce which has lead to unfounded unhappiness. Many people got their first job at Backcountry and haven't been out in the "real world" which can make working with them difficult as Backcountry grows.
Advice to Senior Management – Management gets a lot of unnecessary flack on this page. While I agree that they should view employees as the #1 investment, employees are not by any means treated badly at Backcountry. Management could do more in the professional development arena.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
