I have been working at Baillie Gifford

    Pros

I've not been at Baillie Gifford long but so far it has proved to be a very civilised place to work. Intelligent and diligent people going about their work -- who knock off when it is time to knock of.

    Cons

The office environment seems a little studious, but this is probably what's needed and there are plenty of socialise activities laid on at the end of the day. Office is in a great location in central Edinburgh

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I really don't have any advice that would be of use. The partnership structure seems to really work here, so there is no domineering "character" trying to impose their personal vision.

    I worked at Baillie Gifford

    Pros

The induction is great, you can always turn to someone for help on any issue. Expertise is second to none, the company retains its best employees who eventually make partner. The company sticks to its guns, in that it doesn't stray from the aim of long term investments in stocks and fixed income. Different desks have a different feel to them. Certainly the investment strategies and paths taken in order to achieve returns for clients, might differ from team to team. Useful weekly meetings that keep everyone up to date on the latest goings on and potential future investments. The floor is open to questions too.

    Cons

    Very conservative and generally quiet

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think that they are doing a good job
