    Pros

Working with great people, learning a varied skillset and getting to know a wide range of different industries. Great career opportunities coming out.

    Cons

Could be very long hours on some cases. A very steep learning curve, a lot of travel (though still less than the other consulting companies)

Consulting wasn't for me, but Bain was great

I worked at Bain & Company

    Pros

    - The people: Every company claims this, but Bain does an impressive job of choosing people who are fun to work with. Many of my best friends are former coworkers from Bain.
    - The clients: Bain gets engagements with many of the "most desirable" clients
    - Less travel than other consulting firms

    Cons

    - Long hours: if something needs to be done to satisfy a client it will be done. Managers are good about making time for really important personal issues, but it still takes up most of your life.
    - Consulting: in general I think consulting is a parasitic industry
