Many good opportunities at Baker Hughes but company experiencing lots of transition pains

Marketing Manager (Current Employee) Houston, TX

ProsLegacy of Baker Hughes produced lots of great technologies and most product lines are good places to work for engineers and scientists. However product lines have lost lots of power to the new regional structure. The regions are better places to work for those in management.

ConsProduct lines have lost a lot of power in the company. Upper management very distracted and trying to get a grip on what markets to focus on. Jury on new CEO still out. The company overall is struggling to define itself and Halliburton is way out in front in many of the key market segments.

Corporate structure very confusing right now.

Advice to Senior ManagementNeed to switch focus from product lines to market segments in regions.
