Cons

Senior management completely out of touch with workforce.
Morale very low amongst workforce and lack of direction from senior management reinforces this.
Company always first to lay-off people and the last to start hiring.
Company happy to be number three in all it does.
Company is CAPEX averse.

I have been working at Baker Hughes

    Pros

Legacy of Baker Hughes produced lots of great technologies and most product lines are good places to work for engineers and scientists. However product lines have lost lots of power to the new regional structure. The regions are better places to work for those in management.

    Cons

Product lines have lost a lot of power in the company. Upper management very distracted and trying to get a grip on what markets to focus on. Jury on new CEO still out. The company overall is struggling to define itself and Halliburton is way out in front in many of the key market segments.

Corporate structure very confusing right now.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to switch focus from product lines to market segments in regions.

    No opinion of CEO
