I have been working at Baker Hughes full-time

    Pros

Pay and benefits are decent. Some good job opportunities. Enjoyable and talented coworkers for the most part.

    Cons

Highly political and beaurocratic environment. Many employees work long hours and/or are expected to handle email and take phone calls while on vacation. Too many competing initiatives, so most are reduced to box-checking missions. Many difficult and complex processes and systems. Rush to begin work on projects while planning still in progress results in wasted work, rework and confused outcomes.

    Doesn't Recommend
    No opinion of CEO
  2. Good work experience, but didn't keep me busy all throughout the summer.

I have been working at Baker Hughes as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Really nice people. They all were willing to help out me and answer some of my dumb questions.

    Cons

They didn't have enough work for me to do. I wish they had planned out my internship a little better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep your interns busy and really challenge them.
