Pros

Great company in innovation and technology development.

Advice to Management

Listen to your mid-management, develop and promote people base on their merits not on how well they play the political game.

I worked at Baker Hughes full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Challenging job, operating and repairing expensive instrumentation that is put thousands of feet down a well hole. Pay is ok, overtime almost always happens when demand is high.

    Cons

When demand drops, the company drops people FAST. I do not blame them for wanting to keep the most experienced personnel. However, they have become a company full of old men, making a huge gap between them and the rookies, as they keep laying off the latest group to get a couple years under their belt. Don't trust the company executives.

    Advice to Management

Develop a blend of people with various experience levels in order to keep a steady flow every year of experienced people that the customers will respect.
