I have been working at Baker Installations

Pros

Pay is ok. Unsupervised work-day. Company truck & tools.

Cons

Where to start? The hours can just be ridiculous & you can't go home until everything installed works perfectly... not that that is a bad thing since you're employed to make them work right, but sometimes it seems like the majority of the equipment you're installing doesn't work right.

Work every Sat & Sun and only have one weekday off.

Pay is just "ok". Doesn't matter how much experience you have as a technician, the pay is still just "ok". ... and in my opinion, just not worth the time & effort you put into the job and away from your family.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

At the very least, every other Sat or Sun off. Only Wednesday off and working every Sat & Sun in a fairly stressful job is just asking your techs to eventually either just not give a damn anymore or leave your company.

    Pros

-Pay (Good money to be made)
-Seniority is the advancement so enjoy it as much as possible.

    Cons

    -Benefits
    -Advancement Opportunity
    -Communication Failure
-Contradiction (For Ex.- Accomplish more units in less time.... but be safe!)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put a greater effort into strengthening your web of communication between corporate, regional heads, market heads, system supervisor and lead, down to individual tech. Network your company into a single economic structure rather than free floating satellite systems independent of each other and many issues would be resolved.

I worked at Baker Installations full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Working with some genuinely GOOD people ... and others, Not so much.
Company truck is nice, but when they require you to travel to ANYWHERE and EVERYWHERE to accomplish your tasks, 4WD would make sense... but too expensive, so techs just have to "deal with it".

    Cons

Pay is ridiculously low for everything they expect you to do, in the weather conditions they expect you to do it in and in the unrealistic timeframes it is expected to be completed in...
Honestly, too many Cons to really keep listing... DO NOT WORK HERE.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Like it would make a difference... Management could care less about their employees... They are extensions of tools to them.
