I worked at Baker & McKenzie

Pros

Baker has great benefits, conference rooms overlooking the White House, and senior-level partners in tax, immigration and corporate that have many amazing policy and government contacts and sterling reputations.

Cons

As with most Big Law Firms, billable hours are highly encouraged to be over 2,600 hours at D.C. (not N.Y.C. or Chicago) pay. Expect to put in a lot more work than that if you want to last, although your opportunities for professional growth will be nonexistent.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase the pipeline for professional growth for attorneys and staff, or you will lose many more of your most capable and ambitious associates and partners to the more agile competition.
