I have been working at Banfield Pet Hospital full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Good pay, PTO and benefits, various locations so you can get additional hours even if your location is slow that week, work with school schedules, pay for LVT test (if you pass), user friendly software, great opportunity to learn more about veterinary medicine, Petsmart discount

Cons

Management changes often, but thats case specific.

    Pros

    educational resources, great discounts for your pets, perfect for pet lovers and those looking for a career in the pet health field, (foot in the door), in some hospitals there is a family feeling within the staff, wellness plans, PetSmart discount, loyal clients, new clients and new pets, interesting work experiences, daily variety of events & circumstances

    Cons

    very long hours, minimal benefits for part time employees, slow accrual of paid time off, no holiday pay, only close twice a year, the staff in the back (some doctors as well) are notorious for being hard on the front staff, often under appreciated, on the job training is limited because the staff are already over extended and possibly short staffed, small quarters, not enough phones or computers.

    It would be great to feel like a smaller practice, more staff, structured universal training program, better updates to the software, a lead csc or a role specific to scheduling, better work life balance, less drop offs and more in room exams, create a system that allows for a more cohesive and supportive environment for all of the staff, guidelines for pet to provider team ratios,

    It is worthless and causes problems. It would be more beneficial to have a simple interest form or a request to be contacted to schedule an appointment. These "forms" could be sent to the managers email or a lead CSC's email account.

    Banfield is full. of caring and friendly staff. Along with great co-workers the company has a vision and is going places. Better come get on board, because this train is leaving!
