Former Employee – worked at Bank Alfalah

Pros – It's a public company with strong growth prospects in Pakistan. Even though the management has little foresight and leadership ability, you can learn the banking from the ground up and then move on to a better place.

Cons – No meritocracy. Age, connections and being a sycophant helps. The place is not conducive to growth and pace of salary growth compared to industry standards is pathetic.

Advice to Senior Management – If you want to be the best organization in the industry, start focusing more on people. People leadership and development through example and training is the best way to go as opposed to political connections and personal gains. Rules and procedures should me more streamlined such a hiring and promotions, instead of leaving it in the hands of half-educated people who suck their position all the way up.
