I have been working at Bank of America

Pros

Opportunity for growth is promoted. The weekly, quarterly, and yearly reviews help you stay on track to hit your goals. The Bank of America culture promotes excellence, teamwork, and the strive for success.

Cons

too many tools, systems, processes, and policies that impede job duties. For example: If a Client Manager brings in new business during the last 3 days of any month, the Client Manager is not compensated for the production. THis is because there is a 3 day lag in the system.
A Client Manager needs to access 10 to 15 different systems and tools to perform job functions.

I have been working at Bank of America

    Pros

The bank is a large organization that deals with several different aspects of the financial industry so your opportunties are large. You can move around within different groups at the bank and feel as if you started working for a new company which is great and refreshing for your career growth.

    Cons

The recruiting and job search is less than par. Very very slow process with little communications between recruiting and an associate who is posting.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Dont' be so high on yourselves. Have more respect for those below you, as they are the people who get things done.

I have been working at Bank of America

    Pros

Working for this large company means there are usually a lot of staffing changes churning each quarter, so upward and sideward mobility is pretty simple, provided job ratings in the current position are acceptable. The benefits package while not that great, and under constant attack from the HR/finance departments, is comprehensive. The company promotes itself like a well oiled machine in community and human affairs.

    Cons

The company operates itself under the DisneyCo model--everything is happy, we are glory, there are no problems, and we all sing cuum-byy-yaa in a happy circle all day. Behind the curtain is turmoil, rancor, backstabbing, and pompous, selfish, clueless middle management, led by all the more clueless middle management. It has to have one of the highest customer disatisfaction ratings in corporate world. Bewildering organization reporting is the norm. Your boss might be thousands of miles away, while his boss is a hundred feet away from you. Most middle-middle management is hardly qualified to be toll takers, much less running million dollar projects. Offshore outsourcing at BofA is out-of-control. Thousands of USA jobs have been sent overseas to India while US citizen layoffs and retirements skyrocket. Offshore contractor quality of work is generally very poor, apathy is rampant, turnover is rapid, and frustration is high.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Turn off every customer VRU and phone tree system, and give customers direct access to employees who can resolve problems on the spot, letting employees do their job in their best way, making the customer satisfaction the top priority. Incent the employees on customer contact scores, not revenue generation.
