I have been working at Bank of America

Pros

Individuals at Bank of America were extremely team oriented and always looked out for each other. There was a huge push for putting the client first.

Cons

Individuals would attempt to give clients everything at the expense of firm instead of focuses on their ultimate objective which was to provide realistic retirement advice.

I have been working at Bank of America

    Pros

loads of potential to be a real mover in the market.

    Cons

relies too heavliy on it's name and doesn't try to push the envelop on it's innovation. the financially viable divisions often get mired down by the bank's rigid and often times illogical mandates. results seems really sloppy and accidental.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

start taking a hard look at plans and mandates and brutally cut when goals are not met. also, rethink over reliance on contractors - resources that are there to get a paycheck and are not personally invested in teh firm's success....i.e., create a culture where people understnad that they and their colleagues have skin in teh game.

I worked at Bank of America

    Pros

It is a good place to start for someone interested in banking or the financial industry.
Very good compensation for future learning - bachelor's degree
A lot of opportunity for learning

    Cons

    Low benefits and compensation packages
Raises are low; only good for people who make money for company
Most of times they give you pat on back for a great job

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No management is perfect. Respect and reward the low workers behind the scenes that do the jobs they consider small. Most of your management in banking centers are babysitters who have a degree but no idea how to manage. Instead of hiring outside the company, make it a practice to consider those inside first not on the recommendation on management. You have to develop a system where promotions are not done on who likes who but is that person ready and prepared. For example, recommendations not only from management but coworkers around them and probably immediate supervisor.
