Good company, career advancement... eh.

New York, NY

Former Employee – worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 3 years

ProsI have worked with some of the best people in the consumer banking industry and have also learned a lot from them. I started out as a teller, but was soon given responsibilities that tellers were not supposed to responsible for. I was also given a chance to learn from the corporate consumer market leaders, which helped me learn some career advancing skills... which brings me to the cons.

ConsIt has been a while since I have last visited my branch, but for the years that I was there, tellers are not allowed to sit. The corporate market executive believes that when tellers sit, they all of a sudden cannot and will not provide great customer service. Which is complete... bull. Career advancement is rough. Some people get stuck in the same position because corporate just don't see the talent that they have, as they do not visit enough.

Advice to Senior ManagementI am not sure if it is only in Metro NY, but why don't you upper management people try standing 7 1/2 hours a day every work day? It certainly would not be fun.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
