I have been working at Bank of America full-time (less than an year)

Pros

Full time benefits, employee benefits

Cons

To much micromanagement, too much presure to sell, not even following their own GUEST standards for their employees, managers spending too much time doing HR duties, no flexibility in employment, ancient computer systems with patchwork fixes, inflexible rules, no discernable heirarchy of command, training sporadic, work schedules subject to change without adequate notice, pay no commensurate with level of responsibility.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Employees should have more choice in every aspect of their employment. Training should incorporate best educational practices of the 21st century. Company should invest in modern technology.

The most incompetent, unethical and corrupt company you will ever find

    Pros

That I left the company without wasting any more time.

    Cons

No pay for performance. People were being laid off from a department while their replacements were in the training rooms getting trained to take their places. This place is a revolving door. People hired and moved up into management who couldn't handle their entry level position. Management deliberately the underwriting of loans to keep the volumn of loan approvals down while approving other loans that had worse credit profiles. You will not find a lower more corrupt form of business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bank of America tries hard to strive for Work/Life Balance and provide growth opportunities but has fallen short.

    Pros

Coworkers. Fast Paced. No 2 days are alike.

    Cons

Lack of training, work/life balance issue, poor upper management, too much red tape and hurdles to jump over for approvals and funding. Not on the cutting edge of technology.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The Merrill Lynch work ethic has taken over since the acquisition and I don't mean that as a positive comment. Work/Life balance got thrown out the window. Too much emphasis on face time and not enough and actual results and accomplishments. Need a housecleaning across the top 3-4 levels of management to bring in new ideas and current technology.
