I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

bank of america gives 20 days paid vacation plus 10 days sick leave
3 months paid maternity holiday
Work from home option depending on the nature of your work.very flexible work environment

Cons

Increments are like 1% to 3%.
salary is less competitve

Advice to ManagementAdvice

make a salary/benefit/title discrimination for experienced and fresh candidates, especially for IT.
There is no point in paying the same for people having 2yrs experinece and 20 yrs experience.Implement thorough back ground check and filter out less experienced candidates for IT positions.

I worked at Bank of America full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Decent Health Insurance
    Decent 401k

    Cons

BoA continues to siphon profits from ML
    Zero reinvestment in ML

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Workloads of ML WM ManagementAdministrative and support staff doubled over past 2 years with no increase in pay. BoA thanks ML employees by decreasing headcount in management, admin and support staff. expects everyone to do more with less. Hello BoA management, if you want all of ML's wealth management clients to transition into BoA clients, why not be up front about it?

I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good name of Merrill behind you; unique bank/investment platform; good benefits; higher than avg salary + bonus; 4 weeks paid vacation from day one

    Cons

Bad rep of Bank of America; retail banking and customer service is annoying; incredibly archaic and slow systems; very political and bureaucratic; job do's and don'ts change every quarter or so plus comp plan has changed 4 or 5 times in a year and there is high turnover in the banks, which mean you never work with the same people and have to start from square one constantly; high demands

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize talent and develop it; upgrade your technology so it doesn't take 45 minutes to open an account; send the right messages to the consumer bank so we're not always butting heads with them; clean up back office and support centers so we are able to help clients with issues in a timely manner
