I have been working at Bank of America full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

The corporation cares and listens to feedback from associates. The company is constantly looking for ways to make banking more efficient. Leaders are thoroughly trained on how to set goals and coach effectively. Sales staff are training extensively on sales process.

Cons

System updates sometimes cause outages, limited contingency plan causes chaos for employees. Some associates may have to wait a long time to be promoted because of lack of opportunities or staffing cuts.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ensure associates are always the first to know about changes, don't let our customers be the ones to tell us. Create a position between Assistant Manager and Banking Center Manager that is salary and has more access and abilities in banking centers where needed.

    Pros

Huge organization provides a lot of flexibility and benefits. Pay is very good and there is a lot to learn if you are willing
The size of the company allows employees to have a great deal of mobility and the MyWork (work from home) program can be very useful

    Cons

Size of organization makes change and adaptability very difficult. Complexity of business can make it difficult to see the "big picture"

    Pros

Growth and learning opportunities at Bank of America are practically unlimited. Especially if you are open to relocating the breadth of management opportunities are great.

    Cons

While Bank of America's size can be a great positive; it can also be a large negative. The bureaucracy of such a large organization can tend to stifle creativity.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get back to the feeling of empowerment associates had in the NCNB and NationsBank days.
