    Pros

Many departments are still allowed to innovate solutions to their customer's problems. Creative and talented teams still operate, and if you get an opportunity to work in New York or on systems closely aligned with the trading floor, you will find an exciting, seat-of-your-pants culture that genius can thrive in.

    Cons

There are many departments at BofA, so my comments only apply to Risk. The risk department has tried to rein in the chaotic development culture of New York and govern it in the stodgy and plodding style of the head office. More procedures, more governance, more project planning, more steering, more Six Sigma. Development is almost completely off-shored (read: No talent required), so any local work is strictly PM. BA means PM at BofA.

    Advice to Management

I'm not sure I can give any that they would take. They firmly believe that process is more important than product. Maybe they're right, and I'm a dinosaur.
