Nice benefits and decent pay paired with nitpicking, favoritism, and unrealistic sales goals.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Great benefits (part-timers are eligible for medical, dental, etc.)
    - Decent Pay
    - Tuition reimbursement

    Cons

Please consider these before applying for a position:
    - In my particular branch there is a lot of favoritism and shirking by management
    - Many other reviews mention a "customer first" approach with that translating into "sales first"; they're absolutely right. Forget about the customer, its all about soliciting, selling, and borderline harassing the poor customers to open this account, or that account, or this credit card - all the while they're just trying to make a deposit/withdrawal.
    - Aggressive and unrealistic sales goals. As mentioned before, as a teller you're required to "sell" to the customer. If your goals are not met or you refuse to mention a product, you'll be written up.
    - BofA is the epitome of a ground-level-corporate disconnect
    - Many useless and pointless tasks such as repetitive training, "coaching" (i.e. disciplining colleagues for minutia)
    - Waste of man-power hours (i.e. the "Lobby Leader")
    - Flat out lying to customers about wait times, especially when the customer wants to open an account. For example, it takes about 30 - 45 mins to open an account, but the employees will say the process takes about "10 minutes".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

How about caring about the customer? That means not focusing so much on sales and sales goals, but actually building relationships with clients. One expands a business by being honest, being genuine, and caring about the client/customer; not by lying, and putting sales first.
