I worked at Bank of America full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

Name recognition, dominant industry player, deep pockets

Cons

Step child if not core banking, only average benefits, one size didn't fit all, Ken Lewis caused too many years of pain due to misguided growth

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep focusing on core strengths, Brian Moynihan finally got the ship righted, just not in time for useless options that expire in 2016

    Cons

bad rap in the community, downsizing branches and positions so advancement opportunities become more and more limited , nit-picky sales spreadsheet, Banker goals very short term based vs long term growth/client managing

Current Employee - Teller in North Sacramento, CA

I have been working at Bank of America part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Generally nice coworkers who pull their weight, provides low-cost health/dental insurance options, every federal holiday off, two weeks of vacation time even for new employees, clean environment with good central air systems

    Cons

Branches extremely busy, sometimes with no breaks in customers. Assessments are done through computer program data and it doesn't matter if you're doing your job well in person--if you can't convince people to sign up for new products it brings down your score to "not meeting expectations".
