I worked at Bank of America full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

It is a good opportunity for a recent college graduate to get a broad understanding of an enormous global company. It will help you determine where you want to specialize. Once you are in, it is not very difficult to move around.

Cons

Benefits decline every year. The project management process and bureaucracy inside the company are horrendous. Employees left after the multiple years of layoffs are constantly looking to leave for something better.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Working remotely is a big benefit but is being phased down. Supposedly outside of LAS, things are much better.

    Cons

LAS is a dump. LAS is where enthusiasm goes to die. Zero organizational stability, management loves to make frequent org changes. If messing around with org charts were a sport, the Bank would be a gold medal winner hands down.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop the smoke and mirrors. Better organizational stability will work wonders. Shuffling people around might be a fun game on powerpoint but is counterproductive. Do a better job at staffing projects appropriately and abandon six sigma which is not working for you. Allow employees to voice dissent without fear of consequences as opposed to the current system of stifling the bad news till all hell breaks loose at the last moment.
