    Pros

Name recognition. Excellent Quant Analyst, Research Analysts. Fine salary and benefits in the PMD program. Interesting wholesalers and lunches.

    Cons

Banker's mentality does not fit with brokerage. The BoA/Merrill marriage is uneven to say the least. As BoA goes, so goes ML, by which I mean that payouts change monthly, targets change weekly. There is little consistency. Ridiculously male dominated in 2013.

    Advice to Management

The meat grinder churning of PMD's is like SO post-Korean War 1950's. Rather than mass hire 21 year old boys to smile and dial in cold-calling hell, only to be fired and then hiring their clones, why don't you hire fewer PMD's, actually implement a true training program, groom and actually mentor PMD's for success, rather than beat PMD's down on a weekly basis. The firm, the complexes, managers and PMD themselves would be better rewarded with being given an adult and professional program. The financial services world has changed dramatically. Individuals no longer need nor want advisors. Management must know that. Why hasn't management been compelled to tweak their sensibilities? Is it just easier to hire a roomful of young men to be put into the grinder and fired? Women and diversity candidates are nearly invisible, despite so many reports, like the Pew Center for Research, state that women manage family monies. It is the 21st Century. You might just want to recognize that.
