Pros

Part-time hours can be flexible, teller pay is competitive, part-time employees are eligible for excellent full-time benefits, getting to know your customers on a face-to-face basis makes the day go by really fast

Cons

Competing for vacation days can be a pain if you're the low man on the totem pole, constantly having to upsell customers can be a downer, understaffed locations put pressure on tellers to take on more work than needed

Advice to Management

Trust tellers to look over customer accounts to make product suggestions rather than using a system that generates offers. Customers can easily tire of being offered products and services that they don't need while tellers end up getting the brunt of their frustration. Hold personal bankers, service specialists, and assistant branch managers more accountable for greeting customers and forming relationships.

  1. I loved my position at the Broker-Dealer Services Division in Boca Raton & would have still been there if it wasn't sold

    Pros

It was a great place to work. Management made us all feel like one big family. There were ups and downs due to the nature of the bond business, but I always worked hard and was recognized for that. Great benefits and perks.

    Cons

LaSalle was sold to BoA and subsequently our division was sold as well.

  2. Lack of Camaraderie

    Pros

The company offers great benefits and an opportunity to learn several aspects of banking. Training is valued highly.

    Cons

Upper level management can be antagonistic and hostile to constructive criticism. Communication of major initiatives to employees can be sloppy.

    Advice to Management

Be open. Be honest. Be secure enough to value all input.
