I worked at Bank of America full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Salary and benefit package was good; co-workers were good people and pleasant to work with; location was a convenient commute

Cons

Too large to care about customers or employees; senior people in the wrong positions; decisions seem to take forever, yet projects must be completed at warp speed; too many last-minute projects and directives; too much stress; too little work-life balance; the culture values diversity but doesn't consider workers over 50 to be a part of that diversity (affinity groups for LGBT and every ethnic group under the sun, but no affinity group for older workers, or any interest from the company in starting one); the "hurry up" culture grinds people to pulp

Advice to Management

Restructure the company and the business processes; celebrate work life balance; return to the roots of the old Bank of America culture; reduce the influence of the New York / Boston crowd on the Board and the senior management team

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of training with consistent emphasis on treating every customer exactley the same. The bank is trying to eliminate favoritism based on balance and opt for consistent customer treatment.

    Cons

Long hours, the work life family balance is not a consideration in the corporate culture. Expectation to work every weekend. If senior management does not like the performance of your office, the walk in and put you in warning without listening to the associates for potential causes

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees the want to be successful
