I have been working at Bank of America full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Comp is decent, but the benefits are terrible. The bureaucracy is terribly complicated, which can impact quality. Some mobility available if you're willing to relocate overseas.

Cons

Slow moving. Lots of meetings and face time. Not very dynamic culture. Lots of managing up, even if quality suffers.

I worked at Bank of America full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Always busy and plenty of overtime. Learned a lot about the corporate work environment good and bad and also in my field.

    Cons

Managers are mostly brown noses that are afraid to go against upper management for fear of retribution...do not like if you go against the grain. Not able to think "outside the box", must follow the culture or be looked at in negative way...not a team player!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clean house and hire actual managers, not just promote because someone is with the company for so many years. Train and retrain people needing additional help instead of disposing of good employees.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time

    Pros

Benefits, flexible work schedule, opportunity for advancement

    Cons

Constant changes, poor strategic decisions made, little to no consequences for low performers, bad reporting

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Executive leadership should obtain associate and mid-level management input prior to making major procedural changes. Many strategic plans implemented recently have been total failures for the very reasons all of the associates could have told you from day one. Executive leadership should also get input from mid-level management when deciding who to layoff. It doesn't make sense to get rid of top performers and keep the people that were dragging the company down. Lastly, stop KNOWINGLY using erroneous reporting. It is absolutely ridiculous to judge individual and team performance based on a report with critical errors that are known to all. Fix the reports first!
