    Pros

This is a company that one stays with forever! If you're looking for a career and a interested and growing with a company this may be the place for you. If you do not have any prior banking experience, No Problem. The starting position is a Teller. Lots of customer contact. Expectation is to delight and uncover needs for the customer. So please know, this too is a sales role.

You can only move up from there.

The bank is also a great place for Part timers or students. The work-life balance can be better but most managers are pretty flexible with you

    Cons

There seems to be a bit of disconnect with upper management and retail stores. Retail stores (or what you may know as the bank) see thousands of customers a month. The banks priorities seem to be changing constantly. It's difficult to know what your focus should be day to day. It is definitely becoming a company that is more sales driven.( ala wells fargo, ugh) So, if you do not like sales. This is not the place for you.

If you're looking to get out of sales and into a different role within the company or start out in a non sales role, Good Luck. Seems like most roles are again mostly sales, and also you you may need to have a lot of exposure to get into any other role. Most of the administrative roles are filled by lifers as are the audit team roles.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Know what is like in all your stores. I understand that retail banking is not the money maker. but please do not rely on what your senior associates tell you what it's like. Retail banking can be a war zone at times.

I have been working at Bank of America part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Subsidized health/dental insurance with several different options, ranging from high deductible to full coverage. Two weeks each of paid vacation and sick time, along with leaves of absence. Maternity leave can be extended up to six months. There's also low turnover so you have a chance to get to know coworkers, and job security--no one gets fired out of the blue.

    Cons

It's a popular bank so there are long lines at nearly every branch, and the amount of hours provided for tellers per branch is low in comparison, so it seems like branches are short-staffed even when they're not.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow branches to hire more tellers.
