    BAML is all about relationships

Current Employee - Vice President - Business Analyst in New York, NY
Current Employee - Vice President - Business Analyst in New York, NY

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

BAML is a aggressive and results-focused culture that also highly values relationships and relationship-building. Things are generally done pragmatically and fairly quickly. BAML can be a good place to try to get your friends hired since the friendships are often what counts for getting head as much as your skills or knowledge.

    Cons

People can take things a bit personally here compared to other bulge brackets. People at the firm can have trouble taking the long view, going strategic, or making decisions based on actual business drivers rather personal or political considerations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try getting more technocratic, more polished and more professional. Stop letting people build fiefdoms and start forcing cross-selling, best practices, tighter expense management. In other words show some leadership and get people to grow up!

    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
