I worked at Bank of America full-time (more than a year)

Pros

The breadth of accounts, perks, advice that you have as an employee are great. It great to work for a well known company, but on the other side of the coin, not exactly dinner conversation with those that have had a lesser experience (with a mortgage, for example)

Cons

With the specific site i was at, there were always talks about closing because it was so small! Average employees at a call center in other cities in the hundreds, while we were <40. The way that you bonus is through surveys that are emailed to customer. the surveys don't have your name on them. so naturally, if a customer has an issue that isn't resolved over the course of a couple of calls in one day, you may have solved the problem and the customer was happy, but the customer will receive the survey and mark poorly on the individuals that got it wrong. Even if the survey says someone else's name or says "he" and you are a she (or vice versa), you must swallow that survey.

    You have room for advancement, great employees, teamwork and I company that actually cares about their employers

    You don't get praised or rewarded for doing a good job. They only acknowledge when you make a mistake

    Pros

    The best part of working for bank of America was the pay and profit sharing. The starting wage for the call center was $12 an hour.

    Cons

    The raises are minimal. After working for the company for 3 years my pay increased just over a dollar. and I was always ranked at the top for performance and still managed to barley increase a $1

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Take better care of your employees and reward them more often.
