Pros

Bank of American has a great benefit package. There's good internal organizational communication, and it is a respected company that works on many community initiatives.

Cons

Process of moving up can be slow and difficult if you start as a teller (regardless of experience/education), but this tends to vary greatly by region. The Pacific Northwest is notorious for hiring through word of mouth instead of through actual applicants (which means networking is vital). Once an employee begins as a teller, regardless of what education they have completed before or since then - or previous experience - they are required to go through each successive position one at a time, even when their education or experience is equivalent to management level work, which makes moving up a slow process.

Advice to Management

More emphasis on promotions for quality of employee (skill, education, etc.) versus time with company.

    Pros

Bank of America pays well for hard work and has great benefits, especially for those with families. There is a huge pool of candidates applying for jobs so only the most talented people get chosen for a position, which means you're often working with very smart people who are good at their jobs. There are always challenging tasks which allow every employee the opportunity to show what they're capable of.

    Cons

It can be very stressful at times to work at a company with such a high profile. Everything you do in your work is scrutinized and there is always someone available to step in and take your job if you can't perform well.

    Advice to Management

Don't forget what it's like to be part of the rank and file. Run the business with integrity.

Great place to work, but not satisfying long-term.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Great pay and opportunity especially for those without degrees.

    Cons

Just contributing to company's bottom-line profits -- not really helping people, but milking them for fees and services, sometimes not needed or in excess.

    Advice to Management

Just don't talk the talk, but walk the walk and make sure it gets down to lower management and employees, especially diversity. Show how their work impacts clients and helping them out instead of it always being about bottom-line and sales or pushing some new strategy that then gets replaced six months later after a lot of time and effort.
