Pros

I made a career switch into the capital markets subsidiary from management consulting. The equity research division for which I worked was a small team, and the peer on-boarding was fantastic. Total compensation and benefits package was also good for a career switcher.

Cons

Management was tough at times and due to the nature of the long work schedule, communications were not always clear. Overall, it was a great professional learning experience and provided a representative environment for a job in the capital markets.

Great Company. Touch to transition from consumer to corporate banking.

    Pros

-The benefits are amazing for a part time position in today's economy.
-Plenty of room for growth if you put forward the effort.
    -Promote from within.
-Plenty of networking opportunities if you know where to look and who to reach out to.
-Job security, people who put an effort really don't get laid off in consumer banking.

    Cons

-It's tough to make the transition from consumer banking to corporate or investment banking if you're a college student who is trying to go that route.
-You're required to know a lot about regulations and procedures and the lists keep growing while your pay doesn't grow nearly as fast.

    Advice to Management

Develop more programs or assistance for college students who want to make the transition from consumer to corporate banking.

    Pros

If you are good at what you do, they do give great recognition. Upon exceeding my goals I was offered a Management position without even applying.

    Cons

It's important to be open for change, and to really like people. Policies and goals can change in an instant and you work with people with very different personalities. This can be a major pro for some people and a con for others who are not as socially inclined or likes constant consistency.
