I worked at Bank of America

Pros

Pretty good benefits. A lot of brillant, talented people working there. Always seeking to introduce new products although sometimes not everybody is up to speed as to how the products work.

Cons

Extremely bureaucratic. Always trying to do things the cheapest way possible, even at the expense of client satisfaction. Yet management still claims that the client is number one.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to look at the competition and some of the competitive advantages the bank is giving them in the name of cost control

I worked at Bank of America

    Pros

Reasonable pay and stability, not a very demanding environment.

    Cons

Too large of a company - everything in IT was a mess. So many branches and sites, nothing was standard - everything was unique.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Standardize voice and data, where possible. Stop outsourcing IT and reinvest in an in-house team that is committed to making things run well across the company. Outsourcing has created an even bigger nightmare for the employees that remain.
