I have been working at Bank of America as a contractor for more than 3 years

    Pros

If you live close by and have the skills, it's a fine place to work. I made many friends there and you could too.

    Cons

If you have a bad manager who won't give you the support you need, you are toast.
Some managers, like all people are judgmental and will write you off and give bad references.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train the managers to support their employees and do 360 reviews. This would help to raise the level of management.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I feel like they make a pro-active effort to treat customers and employees well. There are ample opportunities for education and to hone skills all provided free of charge by the company. I have heard co-workers say that BofA is more "human" than the other big banks. I feel like I can speak up to senior management and they actually listen.

    Cons

Bank of America is an enormous institution and of course that present problems. Sometimes it feels like bank's recent history has burned us and makes us more risk averse than we should be.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep listening to employees when they bring issues or opportunities to the table.
