I worked at Bank of America full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Money ok, that's about it..

Cons

If you're not in NY you're not important. While the rest of the world is moving towards flexible work/locations - the new Bank of America Merrill Lynch is undoing all the remote/flexible work programs. Management is out of touch with modern workplace practices/culture.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember the global diversity and value of (what was) the Bank of America 'brand'. Remember that your greatest asset is your staff.

I have been working at Bank of America full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    Strong culture of consistent results

    Cons

They burn through people like crazy, You're fortunate to hang on for more than a few years

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of the people making $200,000 that are trying to "streamline" Bank of America and keep more of the middle management

Too focused on sales and not on employees

I worked at Bank of America full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Okay pay at level. Decent benefits.

    Cons

Lots of promises of promotions but only mattered who you knew. Other people within the company who we're 'buddies' would get the jobs. This is true for many locations and for a lot of my peers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus more on your employees and less on your numbers. The numbers will fall in to place if your employees feel valued and supported.
