Bank of America – “Bank of America is full of opportunity”
3 of 4 people found this helpfulPros
Incredible diversity, your career opportunities are just as dependent on performance as they are background or education, nation-wide opportunities for advancement, the ability to work in several different and diverse departments, working for the very best in the industry. Here at Bank of America you always feel like you are ahead of the curve in our industry, that others are chasing us to find the best way to perform. I feel the desire to put customers and associates first are genuine, and the "total" compensation, including the low cost/high quality of beneffits is excellent. There is no ceiling to your career-- many top executives started as Tellers.
Cons
Very large company and only the very best get recognized-- this often means that "close-to-top" performers get ignored or undervalued. Associates or teams that consistently make their goals year after year are not valued as highly as the "flash in the pan" performer who happens to be hot at the moment. This can be discouraging, and does not differentiate between 2nd place and last place. The standards are very high, and you have to be nimble to work here -- when change comes it comes very quickly and you must be prepared to change (and exceed expectations) very quickly. The incentive continues to change throughout the year, which is very confusing to many associates.
Advice to Senior Management
Find ways to recognize assocites beyond the incentive plan. Most associates make incentive, so while it is important, it is not a driving force for staying with the company. Senior managers (Band 4 and above) need developing and encouraging, the same as everyone.
