I have been working at Bank of America

Pros

Good benefits
Good work/life balance depending on what area you work
Opportunity to move up if willing to relocate

Cons

Tons of burarcy prevents real work from getting done
Many senior leaders dont comprehend business
Company does not value loyal employees

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Should adopt GE method - agressively promote top performers, agressively fire low performers.
Encourage people to speak their minds instead of telling you what you want to hear.

I have been working at Bank of America

    Pros

good benefits, 401k, 3+ weeks vacation, reputable company

    Cons

Too much bureaucracy. Bank of america departments are widespread throughout the country and are not uniform in policy and procedures. You will not get the same service or the same answers even if you call the same dept twice, back to back. No one seems to know exactly what their job function is as there are layers and layers of procedures and policies that are not uniform to one another. Too much "grey" area that is left to the individual to deceifer and interpret.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees especially at the grunt work. They are most experienced in what the gaps are and what can make the job more efficient and easier to complete. Reports are one thing, however.. take the time to possibly see for yourself, what it is like to be on the ground and what the challenges are that need to be addressed.
