I have been working at Bank of America

Pros

Great benefits package, great performance metrics and reviews, awesome ways to get involved and network with mobility around the world, and very supportive of diversity and minorities

Cons

Due to its large size, it's sometimes hard to see the company's strategy from your perspective in a specific line of business, and depending on what department you are in you may feel disconnected from the customer/business partners you work with or work for

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give associates at all levels of the company more ways to voice their strategy ideas for their line of business or for the company in general-- there is a wealth of genius in this workforce that isn't being tapped into the way it could

    Pros

    Large Corporation with good reputation

    Cons

Branch Managers treat their employees with little or no respect. They want to hire 20 hour tellers to work 6 days a week with no consideration of their needs. The monthly schedule is a joke! They make the schedule yet can change it at any minute and tell you they need you to come in to work even if it is your day off. You pick your vacation a year in advance and are told that the Market manager says you cannot take two weeks of vacation together. Even if you have 3 weeks! If you request it, totheir answer is " it has tto be Market approved" Well why is Mr. Powley approving for his Mgrs to take 2 weeks off? While other employees cannot get the same benefit! What happened to SHOW Coaching?? Let's lead by example!!

The newest trend is telemarketing! They have the teller write 15 names and phone numbers of the people they helped, while telling customers this is just to make sure the bank has the right phone number on file. Then they have the platform staff call the customer to rate the teller service! Where did we sign up for telemarketing calls?

No water at your desks? Not even in a BOA cup? Seriously! We do nothing but talk all day, yet we are not allowed to have water, other than our breaks and lunch! What's next? Potty break restriction! I can see why they want to hire only 17-19 years old! Intimidation!! Hard to pull this type of behavior with seasoned employees!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wait till the economy gets better! Most of your good employees will leave, unless you learn to treat them with respect!
