Pros

The benefits are really good, which helps make up for lower wages.

Cons

Pay is on the lower side of teller positions. Stress will depend on where the branch is located.

    Pros

    The benefits are great.
Free gym access in Downtown office.

    Cons

There is little or no room for growth.
You must adapt as the company is ever-changing. The company is constantly looking for ways to downsize offices and staff. Reorganizations call for layoffs.
Layoffs lead to more work being for those left behind.
Several employees are "office fixtures" and still don't know what they're doing.
Very political in that the company keeps who they want. Most of the time based on seniority. Quality people get shoved out of the way and end up leaving.

    Advice to Management

I understand that cost-efficiencies are great, but extreme changes are not always the best answer. A gym & "health bar" is not enough to make hard-working, genuine people stay in BOH.

Organization is great for entry-level positions, but it is very difficult to move up past middle-management levels.

    - It's in Hawaii
     - Good benefits
     - Great co-workers!
     - Best bank in Hawaii
     - Training at Bank of Hawaii is the best in the business

    Cons

     - Politics make it difficult to move up in the company
     - Slow moving

    Advice to Management

Continue to perform as one of the best banks in the nation, but attempt to move towards a meritocracy where performers are compensated better than non-performers.
