I worked at Barclays as an intern for less than a year

Pros

Working at Barclays was a great experience - I got to work with smart people in a fast-paced environment (which I really enjoyed). The people are friendly and willing to help out or give advice. The working environment is professional.

Cons

It may be a little bit challenging to balance work and private life

I worked at Barclays full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There is a lot of flexibility in terms of work schedule. Many people work from home sometimes. The work is interesting if you get into the right team. Great training programs. Some internal mobility for employees who have been working at the company for a bit of time.

    Cons

Lack of transparency from upper management. Promotion politics. Lack of compensation for employees who perform above expectations. Lack of ability to retain talent and innovate. Every week, you see a person leave the team or a new contractor being hired onto the team - causes lack of teamwork and overall knowledge of projects.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Compensate people according to their performance. Don't treat your employees as interchangeable parts.
