I have been working at Bard

Pros

There are very few real strong reasons to work at Bard compared to other companies within the medical device field. The most positive is that they do have a solid portfolio of products. In fact, some of them are the best in the industry. But, it's not just having strong products that make working at a company worthwhile.

Cons

The upper management team is dillusional about a number of things including quota, marketplace, motivation and economics.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Negative motivation will result in short term gain, at best. But, it leaves long term anymosity.

    Pros

    Strong products. Well received by doctors.

    Cons

    Very inefficiently run company. Poor or no information systems. Not well suited for competitive nature of medical device sales. Need to improve competitive nature of the company.

    Make territory managers more efficient. Free them up to increase time to sell.

    The hard working employees give it a family-feel workplace.

    Cons

    Lack of communication has become a problem.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get to know your employees, not just certain ones. Keep the lines of communication open and be honest, whether the news is good or bad.
