I worked at Barkley

Pros

Employees are treated well, cool office, good training. They attract good talent, and it's great to be surrounded by the creative personalities.

Cons

Seems management heavy, and management doesn't always like to hear what the little people have to say.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat everyone as if they are on an even playing field. You'd be surprised at what can be accomplished.

    I worked at Barkley full-time

    Pros

Culture is fantastic. Emphasis is on great creative work and making things. Senior Leadership has a "if you want to do something, we'll help find a way for you to do it" attitude. Constant opportunities to influence how the company does things. Leadership is open to new approaches and way to make things better.

    Cons

Constant struggle to get the right creative leadership in place. For a long time, creatives have been promoted for being friends with the right people, not for the work the actual work they are able to do. Very frustrating for the hard working creatives who are actually putting in the time to get great work done, while less deserving creatives with the right friends move their way to the top.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get the right creative leadership in place, and your best creatives won't leave.
