I have been working at Barnes & Noble

Pros

Primarily the books and the environment of a bookstore. It was nice and quiet and the workload was light -- nothing too difficult.

Cons

Management was the worst I have ever seen. Everything was extremely hyped and petty. Micro-managing was the rule of the day.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a grip on the environment and make the place a more comfortable place to work. Stop treating your employees like little children.

I worked at Barnes & Noble

    Pros

    Nice co workers.
Okay discount. Nice atmosphere. You can learn a lot here if you want to expand your knowledge in retail.

    Cons

Horrible pay, Horrible management, crap promotions. Too much politics involved. Benefits were too much out of my pay so I couldn't even afford them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your employees enough so they can afford rent.
