Part-Time Bookseller

Bookseller (Former Employee)
Los Angeles, CA

I worked at Barnes & Noble part-time for more than 3 years

ProsThis is a great place to work if you like books. I worked here as a part-time bookseller for several years while attending school. If you work full time and are good at your job, there are advancement opportunities. They're pretty good about raises. Very flexible scheduling.

ConsRelatively low pay at first. Stores sometimes close, and you have to try to find a new job at another of their stores.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Challenging, yet rewarding.

Bookseller (Current Employee)
Orlando, FL

I have been working at Barnes & Noble part-time for less than a year

Pros: The employee discount is fantastic, as well as the book loan program. An employee is compensated well for their work (i.e., appropriate break times, lunch… Cons: There seems to be difficulty with management--not enough leeway in the right places and too much in others. There also seems to be a considerable… Advice to Senior Management: My advice to management would be to invest in your employees more, rather than the Nook.
