    Pros

As a book lover and avid reader, this job was a dream! It can be a career as far as managing goes, but for a part time, or full time, job that benefits your mind, couldn't be greater! Meeting authors and getting a head start on new music and movies is another perk. The health insurance I had through this company is rivaled by none! Overall, what a wonderful experience.

    Cons

You'd be amazed how upset customers can become about books and cd's. There is a lot of heavy lifting, the books need to make it from boxes onto the floor and sometimes from the floor back into boxes so weak backs really shouldn't go for this, you will hurt yourself, but there are so many positions that that can be circumvented.

    Advice to Management

Allow more creativity from the creative minds that the company tends to hire. The employees are an asset, and as much as that is recognized through "Staff Picks" or "Staff Recommends" or certain plans that allow more creativity, the workforce that is drawn to being a bookseller can do so much more, embrace them and give them the chance!
