I worked at Barnes & Noble part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Hired for the holiday season, I found the other employees to be friendly. Most associates were avid readers who seemed to enjoy their jobs.
Tasks typically varied from day to day with many employees covering various sections of the store. This made it easier to learn about the store’s inventory.
Store management treated employees fairly and valued what they had to say.
This is an excellent option for book lovers who like to stay current on countless new and upcoming releases.

    Cons

While the practice of shifting employees from section to section may alleviate boredom, it does have a drawback. By doing this, store management may be ignoring the employees’ areas of expertise.
Early in the holiday season, hours can be limited. However, as the holidays near, available hours certainly increased seem somewhat.
